A vibrant NEW
VOCAL ENSEMBLE

ABOUT

MOSAIC is a vibrant, London-based vocal ensemble, made up of a collection of 10 singers.
Founded in 2023, MOSAIC was born out of a desire to explore a diverse repertoire of music and challenge the conventions of a typical choral performance.

Since then, we have performed numerous sold-out concerts, each offering a uniquely diverse programme and unforgettable audience experience.

From collaborating with emerging composers to workshop and premiere new works, to performing narrative song cycles, our work is rich in creativity and celebrates the varied and exciting landscape of contemporary choral music.

GRACE

Soprano

About

Grace grew up in a musical family (where car rides would often resemble that scene from Step Brothers…). She continued singing at university in theatre shows, a Capella groups and as a choral scholar. Getting to perform a variety of music was a real appeal of MOSAIC! Other than singing, Grace loves crochet and can usually be found with some yarn in her bag, often at the pub.

Why MOSAIC?

It is a few hours a week where I just get to switch off from life and work and make beautiful music with friends - it’s a bit cringe but absolutely true.

Favourite MOSAIC moment?

The moment we all left the stage having just finished our first concert and realising that we actually pulled it off!

JESS

Soprano & Producer

About

Jess grew up singing at any possible opportunity. She read music at Oxford University where she was a choral scholar and dabbled in a bit of musical theatre. Her love for ensemble singing inspired her to set up MOSAIC with Màth. As both MOSAIC’s Producer and a professional Theatre Producer, Jess loves the collaboration of working with hugely talented people to perform exciting concerts.

Favourite music to perform?

It sounds cliché, but I really love singing a wide range of musical styles. That’s why I love singing with MOSAIC - nothing is off the cards!

Favourite MOSAIC moment?

Our Christmas concerts are real highlights - each year I have to order more and more mulled wine for audiences!

KAYLEIGH

Alto

About

Having studied music to postgraduate level, Kayleigh is now an inclusive music practitioner, working in both educational settings and within the community. She is hugely passionate about accessibility within music and believes everyone deserves access to the experience of creating and performing music.

Favourite music to perform?

I love the story telling aspect of Lieder, but also like to sing styles like pop and neo-soul.

Favourite MOSAIC moment?

I was excited about the opportunity to do close harmony singing again - it’s been a really rewarding challenge. And I feel very privileged to sing with such talented people!

BETHANY

Alto

About

Bethany is a Singing Teacher and also Orchestra Manager for Sinfonia of London. She grew up performing with Bedfordshire Youth Opera before studying Music at Manchester University, majoring in Voice. Outside of MOSAIC, she can be found cooking and going for walks with her little Staffie, and MOSAIC’s mascot, Mili.

Why MOSAIC?

We sing a huge mix of genres, that’s why I love MOSAIC!

Favourite MOSAIC moment?

My first concert, In A Day, was such a joy to be a part of. I loved being a part of something so collaborative and creative.

CONNOR

Tenor

About

Connor is an Actor and Singer currently working in London on both new and established theatre productions. Having sung chorally at university, and often working in musical theatre, MOSAIC has been an opportunity to sing challenging repertoire, of huge stylistic range, in a tight and dynamic ensemble. When he’s not performing, Connor can be found out for walks, building lego, or often at the nearest pub!

Favourite music to perform?

Singing new work for the first time, especially blending traditional choral and more modern and popular idioms is always super fun.

Favourite MOSAIC moment?

Performing our In A Day concert, which I feel broke the mould of what a traditional concert should look like.

DAFYDD

Tenor

About

Dafydd has sung in choirs, bands, opera and theatre productions throughout his life. Working as a Creative Lead, Dafydd also enjoys combining his creative direction with musical interests, most recently through MOSAIC’s marketing and web design! In his spare time, Dafydd is often found producing music and pretending to enjoy exercise.

Why MOSAIC?

That feeling of working hard together to create something that others can enjoy is so rewarding. I feel very lucky to sing with such a lovely, like-minded bunch.

Favourite MOSAIC moment?

Every time we see new faces in the audience!

ALEX

Bass

About

Alex started learning piano at just 4 years old. Since then, he’s performed in bands, choirs and other music groups wherever possible! Whenever he’s not sleeping, working as a Patent Attorney or doing something musical, Alex is probably found rock climbing.

Favourite music to perform?

I love anything with crunchy harmony, so the jazzy repertoire is always especially fun to me.

Favourite MOSAIC moment?

Singing the Twelve Days of Christmas at our 2023 Christmas concert (if you know you know).

HUGH

Bass

About

Having grown up as a chorister, trumpeter and enthusiastic (but relatively unskilled) pianist, Hugh is now a Theatre Producer. Outside of MOSAIC, you’ll either find Hugh watching opera at the Royal Opera House or in the pub on match night!

Favourite music to perform?

Jazz and folk are my favourite genres to sing, however a bit of classic choral music is always held close to my heart.

Favourite MOSAIC moment?

Our absolutely fabulous concert and night out with Gwalia at the London Welsh Centre.

MÀTH

Bass & Director of Music

About

Màth trained in Musical Direction at the Royal Academy of Music and now works as a professional MD across a range of national productions and projects. Alongside Jess, he set up MOSAIC where he loves working with like minded musicians.

Favourite music to perform?

Sick arrangements of songs you would never expect to work for voices!

Favourite MOSAIC moment?

Either Grace and Jess laughing their way through Twelve Days of Christmas at our annual Christmas concert… or getting to sing new music by stellar emerging composers.
